Debate Comix
There is a growing realization and movement among educators who have
discoverd the power and potential of comic books as an engaging and
exciting literacy and teaching tool. The Baltimore Urban Debate League
is starting a new line of "Debate Comix" and we need your help! We
intend to use the rich potential of comic books to get kids excited
about learning debate. Working with our talented community of students
and coaches and staff we have begun to create a line of debate
"superheroes" and have some story lines to go with them. But we need
your help as we begin to create a regular series.
The more talent the better. We will be having a 3 day retreat this June
to cultivate ideas and produce upcoming issues of the debate comix
series. Please share the attached flyer with students/coaches anyone
who might have the desire and talent to contribute to this fun effort.
We have secured very affordable housing on Towson's campus and will be
able to provide a small stipend to cover travel and meals.
